AN ACT to amend Section 2803 of the Code of Tennessee, being
Section 4503 of R. T. Shannon's Code of Tennessee,
and to repeal conflicting acts.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of the State of Tennessee, That Section 2803 of the Code of
Tennessee,being Section 4503 of H. T. Shannon's Code of Tennessee,
by and the same is hereby amended by striking out the words
"A father, or in case of his death or desertion of his family,
the mother" and substituting therefor the words "The father and
mother, or if one parent be dead or has deserted his or her family,
the other" so that said section will reas (sic.) as follows: "The
father and mother, or if one parent be dead or has deserted
his or her family, the other may maintain an action for the expenses and the actual loss
of service resulting from an injury to a minor child in the parent's service or living in
the family."
Section 2. Be it further enacted, That all laws
or parts of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.
Section 3. Ant (sic.) that this Act take effect from
and after its passage, the public welfare requiring it.
