Senator Poindexter
of Washington state,
recently introduced in the senate
an amendment to the fourteenth amendment
of the federal constitution which, if passed, will have the effect of reducing the representation in the state in the in the(sic.) proportion which the number of disenfranchised persons shall bear to the whole number of citizens of voting age. This ought to make the eastern and soouthern states "sit up and take notice."
